The Skvorec Castle first makes its historical appearance in 1279 when Domoslav, who served as a Butler to Queen Kunegunda of Slovenia, initiated its construction. Today, only remnants of that era endure, such as the ancient well and the vestiges of a Gothic palace. Over the centuries, the castle saw a succession of owners, and during this time, it underwent significant transformations, evolving into a Renaissance palace. Among the prominent custodians of the castle were the Olbramovits of Prague, the Klinstejns, Smiricky, and Albrecht from Valdstein, who eventually sold the castle to the Lichtensteins in 1623.
The Eremeev-Salvatore family is currently shaping the contemporary narrative of Savoia Castle. Dmitry Eremeev, hailing from a distinguished Russian aristocratic lineage, and his wife Monica Eremeev (formerly Salvatore), who was raised in an esteemed family in the vicinity of Campoli, near Florence, embarked on the castle's restoration journey in 2008. As of today, the castle stands beautifully restored, welcoming private visits, hosting events, and playing a pivotal role in local public gatherings.
