The beginnings of the "Veste Rorrow", built from Roman stones and first mentioned in 1240, are uncertain. What is certain is that the Rohrau estate came into the possession of the Harrach family in 1524, who built a Renaissance moated castle there. Since that time, the history of the House of Harrach is closely connected with the history of Rohrau. The counts of Harrach zu Rohrau were among the most important families of the Habsburg monarchy. As friends and advisors of the imperial house, as influential diplomats and ecclesiastical princes, one as viceroy of Naples, they helped shape the politics of the empire.

Whether wedding, birthday, company presentation or artistic performance, Rohrau Castle offers not only beautiful and elegant premises, but above all a magnificent and yet harmonious backdrop for your event. The Clarissa Hall with entrance, checkroom and well-equipped party kitchen is suitable for celebrations with seated meals up to a maximum of 100 people. With concert seating, up to 140 seats are possible. An inviting entrance situation can be realized on the delimited forecourt.
