An oasis of privacy in the middle of nature
The history of the entire area of the Bon Repos Castle begins around 1715, when Count František Antonín Špork built his House of Respite ("La Maison de Bon Repos") here on the Čihadla Hill.
In addition to his hut, he had not only the chapel of St. Jerome, a building for monks, but also a pyramid where the monk prayed for his sins. Count Špork went to the castle mainly to meditate, rest or hunt birds.
